Running a 5K is fun and is a great goal for someone looking to try something new! It doesn't require an investment in equipment, so it's easy on the pocket, too. You will need a good pair of shoes and, of course, there will be a race entry fee. In return, you'll finish with a sense of accomplishment, a T-shirt, and a desire to "find the next race.
This training plan is for someone who is currently walking and who wants to try running. If you're a runner, looking to do your first race, you may want to step it up by incorporating more intensity, or more distance or duration. This plan will get you to the starting line and finish line of your race.
